(WBBM Newsradio) -- The village of Plainfield has lifted a boil order, following tests over the weekend of the local water supply, officials said Monday evening.
The village issued the boil order for tap water last week when bacteria was detected.
Dozens of samples taken Saturday and Sunday show no signs of Coliform or E. coli bacteria, the village said.
Normal water use may resume, but residents can take extra precautions by flushing each water line for several minutes at each fixture and cleaning faucets and aerators.
