(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Plainfield Bears super fan known as "Bearman" learned Friday morning he's being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Hall of Fans.
WBBM's Mike Krauser reports.
Don Wachter, who's been a season ticket holder for 33 years and has worn face paint and real bear's head as "Bearman" for 22, was ecstatic.
"It's just mind-blowing," he said, laughing. "I had a good feeling I'd be selected."
Wachter said the contest between him and other fans from around the country will actually yield three winners, including super fans from Pittsburgh and Miami. The formal announcement was expected to come on Super Bowl Sunday. They'll be the first inductees into the Ford Hall of Fans.
"It's actually all three of us," Wachter said.
