The framework is for an elevated trail along 2 miles of railroad tracks with green spaces, scenic viewpoints, a sculpture garden and an arts and music center, among other things. The trail will run from California Avenue to Kostner Avenue.

"There are two large industrial buildings that that will be tenanted. The tenants haven't been announced yet, but we're hoping to break ground on this project soon be. It will be tenanted by businesses that will engage with the community for the hiring," Hacker said.

West Side Alderman Walter Burnett hopes it will compare with the Bloomingdale Trail and a similar elevated space in New York City.
