(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – What's going on this weekend? WBBM Newsradio's Rachel Pierson has a roundup of the latest events.

--Brave the cold and head to North Avenue Beach for the annual Chicago Polar Plunge. Jump into Lake Michigan at North Avenue Beach to support Special Olympics Chicago. If you can't make it in person on Sunday, the annual fundraiser is also offering a virtual edition.

--Head to the South Side, where stouts meet science. The Museum of Science and Industry hosts the Brewsology Beer Fest. Dozens of breweries will share their samples so you can check out the museum's exhibits with a beer in hand.

--Calling all foodies! Rosemont Restaurant Week kicks off this Sunday. Enjoy special prix fixe, three-course lunch or dinner menus at more than 10 participating restaurants, including Crust Brewing, The Ashburn and Carmine's.

--Celebrate Irish culture in west suburban Elmhurst. The 25th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off at Wilson Street and Spring Road Saturday featuring dozens of floats, marching bands and of course, Irish Dancers.

--If you're looking for a rockin' good time, the Chicago Vintage Guitar Expo has you covered. Buy, sell and trade everything from guitars and amps to parts and accessories this Sunday at the Holiday Inn in Elk Grove Village.

--And tap into mother nature at the Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles because it's maple sugaring time. Try your hand at drilling a tap and watch your sap thicken as it simmers over an open fire.
