OAK LAWN, IL (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man was shot and wounded Tuesday in what may have been a road rage incident in Oak Lawn last night.

An Oak Lawn Police sergeant was near 107th and Cicero at about 6 p.m. when he heard two gunshots, according to the department. He located a wounded man in a parking lot bleeding severely from two gunshot wounds.

The sergeant and another officer provided first aid and the man, said to be in his 40s, was taken away to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Police said another Oak Lawn officer and officers from other jurisdictions were involved in a pursuit of the shooter’s vehicle, a white Chevy Tahoe. The driver ran a number of red lights before getting away. It was last seen speeding south on the Tri-State.

While police said they believe the shooting was motivated by road rage, they had not confirmed that.
