DELPHI, IND. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Social media has become the focus in the investigation of the murders of two teenage girls in Indiana in 2017.
The bodies of Abigail Williams, 13 and Liberty German, 14 were found in February 2017 the day after they disappeared from a trail in Delphi, Ind.
Sergeant Jeremy Piers of the Indiana State Police said investigators are now looking at social media profiles called "anthony_shots," which included included images of a male model who was portrayed as wealthy as a way to attract young girls.
This profile was being used from 2016 to 2017 on social media applications, including but not limited to, Snapchat and Instagram. Investigators said the male model has been identified and is not a person of interest in the case, but they are seeking information about the person who created the anthony_shots profile.
Police believe video and audio of the killer were found on one of the girls' phones, but no one has been arrested.
