Algonquin police use social media to identify unconscious jogger

ALGONQUIN, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --Algonquin Police used social media to identify a man two days after he was found unconscious.

The man was found unconscious on a sidewalk on Saturday evening. It was apparent that he had been jogging.

Police Chief Ryan Markham said it was Saturday evening when the man was found unconscious.

"We received the call that there was a jogger, who was down on the sidewalk." He was treated at the scene and take to a hospital.

Police posted a description on social media-white male in his 60's, blue shirt, green shorts. His neighbors saw the post and helped identify him.

Markham could not give an update on the man’s condition.
