(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — After more than a decade in business, Hub 51 is closing its doors to make way for two new concepts.
Hub 51 at 51 West Hubbard opened in 2008 by brothers Jerrod and R.J. Melman, the sons of Lettuce Entertain You founder Rich Melman. It marked the start of the brothers' own venture in the world of hospitality.
Hub 51's last day is June 8.
The new concepts include a "classic American cocktail bar," and a Southeast Asian restaurant.
The Dip Inn, a cocktail bar, will open in late 2024. The drink menu will be curated by Kevin Beary, partner and award-winning Beverage Director of Three Dots and a Dash and The Bamboo Room.
Crying Tiger, a Southeast Asian restaurant being led by chef and partner Thai Dang is set to open in 2025.
"Thank you to our loyal guests and all of the hardworking people, past and present, that have made Hub 51 such a special place for more than 15 years," Lettuce Entertain You thanked patrons in a released statement.
More updates about the two projects will be announced as they get closer to being finished.
