(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A high school and a former bakery are on the list of the most endangered buildings in Chicago.

Preservation Chicago is out with its annual list of the seven most endangered buildings in the city, or the "Chicago 7."

Executive Director Ward Miller says inclusion on the list is not exactly a death sentence. Some formerly endangered buildings, like the Ramova Theatre in Bridgeport, have been repurposed, he notes.

But the group hopes to help preserve its latest grouping of historic structures, which include the fire-damaged Swift Mansion, 4500 S. Michigan Ave.; the old Schulze bakery at State and Garfield Boulevard; the industrial buildings at Ogden and Keeler on the West Side; and the Chicago Vocational High School at 87th and Jeffrey.

While there are no plans to close the school, a wing of the school and an old airplane hangar are targeted for demolition, Miller says.
