CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - As calls among Democrats grow for President Biden to step out of the presidential race, Governor Pritzker appeared to share his unease about the situation Wednesday.

A live microphone at a public safety event at a Loop restaurant caught the governor saying, "We're just going to keep fighting, I don't know what to say…I gotta do what we have to do. I don't like where we are."

A spokeswoman for the governor said it sounds like he was talking about the state of the presidential race. Pritzker reiterated his support for President Biden and told CBS Chicago he's going to work his tail off to make sure the Biden-Harris ticket wins.

As for a CNN report that a fundraising lunch in Chicago slated for next month has been canceled, Pritzker said he thinks President Biden has been doing a fine job raising money and calls rumors to the contrary "overblown."
