Voters in Illinois will have a familiar choice when they cast ballots for the November 3 statewide election: whether to re-elect two-term Democratic incumbent J.B. Pritzker or his Republican challenger, former state Sen. Darren Bailey. It's the same choice voters had in 2022, and they chose Pritzker by a roughly 13-point margin. WBBM Newsradio spoke at length with both candidates last week in separate interviews, and while both men discussed their visions for the state and criticisms of the other, Presidential politics loomed large over those conversations. Pritzker spent more time during our interview criticizing President Trump than he did Bailey, while Bailey took aim at what he's suggested is the Governor's attempt to position himself for a potential 2028 run for President.
We've posted our individual reports with both Bailey and Pritzker, and we're sharing extended clips from both interviews here.
