(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Cook County State's Attorney's office says the retired judge accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a former Tuskegee Airman will be facing criminal charges.

Retired Judge Patricia Martin had been asked to manage the finances of a former Tuskegee Airman in his 90s.

But instead of managing his money, she stole it and bought cryptocurrency -- allegations that Martin has now admitted, according to documents she filed this week with the Illinois Supreme Court.

A deputy supervisor with the Cook County State's Attorney's office has now told a judge that the office will prosecute the offense as “indirect criminal contempt."

The next court date for former Judge Patricia Martin is July 31.

Martin reportedly has also asked the Supreme Court to disbar her.
