(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in northwest suburban Prospect Heights have asked for the public’s help in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection to a gang-related shooting in the Palwaukee Plaza.

Officials released surveillance video and multiple stills of the shooting.

It happened on the evening of March 21 near the intersection of North Milwaukee Avenue and East Palatine Road.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly before 8:30 p.m. and found several people in the back of a store. Police said the individuals were “visibly shaken up and frightened as a result of the shooting.”

Authorities said two suspects approached the store and shot about 15 rounds toward the building. Police believe they were targeting two individuals who were standing in the front of the store.

Following the shooting, the two suspects ran away from the scene toward the 800 block of Piper Lane.

A search of the area from officers turned up nothing.

Police encouraged anyone who can identify the suspects or has knowledge of the shooting to contact the Prospect Heights Police Department at 847-398-5511.
