CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are warning of a series of burglaries across the city’s North and Near West Sides since the weekend.
They happened across a wide swath of neighborhoods, targeting businesses in Lake View, Ravenswood, West Town as well as the West Loop.
Chicago Police said the burglaries all happened in the early morning hours between 3:20 and 6:41 a.m., starting on Saturday and running through Monday.
It started Saturday at 3:20 a.m. on Southport near Roscoe and the Brown Line station. Half an hour later, police said burglars struck again near Clark and Schubert.
They said thieves broke windows and doors to take cash, liquor, skin care, clothing and electronics.
Police said the thieves returned to the same block on Southport Monday morning.
In a community alert, police warn businesses not to leave money in registers, encourage them to bolt down safes and to call 911 if they see any suspicious cars or people.
