(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — In light of the Highland Park Fourth of July Parade shooting, officials at the Ravinia Festival said they’re either canceling or postponing all shows through July 10.
In a statement, officials said they “hope the space and quiet in coming days allows Highland Park’s community to heal after Monday’s mass shooting.”
Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett, and John Fogarty were among the artists whose performances were canceled or postponed.
On Wednesday, a 19th Circuit judge ordered the alleged shooter Robert Crimo III to be held without bail.
The decision to cancel performances, officials said, was made in “close consultation” with neighbors, public officials, artists, and patrons.
Ravinia officials said those holding tickets for the affected concerts will automatically receive a full refund by Aug. 1.
“We wish comfort and peace to the victims, their families, and all those affected,” Ravinia officials wrote, “And [we] look forward to gathering together soon.”
