(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Some snow with slushy accumulations this morning on the roads, should remind us again how to safely travel in winter weather.
Look what showed up today, an odd bright white substance blanketing most of the Chicago area, a substance not seen in these parts for some time. Scientists tell us it’s called snow and it’s relatively harmless. But there are some issues when you drive a two-ton motor vehicle on surfaces that may be covered in this seasonal precipitation.
Experts remind us to take it slow, leave plenty of space between you and the car in front. It’s time to check your windshield wipers, your wiper fluid, and put that snow scraper in the trunk. And overall, take your time when traveling, especially since it's been a while.
Weather experts say, from now through March, we are likely to see this strange white material on the ground and on the roads fairly often. It’s simply time to remind ourselves that if we respect it, we can manage it.
