Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger was among nearly a dozen House Republicans who joined Democrats Thursday in booting controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments.

Kinzinger, of Channahon, voted to remove freshman Greene, R-Georgia, from the Budget and Education and Labor committees. The measure passed 230-199 largely along partisan lines.

Democrats pushed for the punishment after House Republican leadership declined to take action against Greene, who has promoted conspiracy theories, espoused racist views and has signaled support of violence against Democrats.

Kinzinger has criticized the increasingly erratic right-wing of his party and recently supported the impeachment of former President Donald Trump for the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. His votes could come at a political price.

Greene, in remarks to her colleagues Thursday, said she regretted her past statements and denied believing in the QAnon conspiracy theory and other discredited beliefs. But she notably did not apologize.

According to CNN and The Hill, the 10 other House Republicans voting to support the move against Greene were:
   -Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
   -John Katko of New York
   -Fred Upton of Michigan
   -Nicole Malliotakis of New York
   -Carlos Gimenez of Florida
   -Chris Jacobs of New York
   -Young Kim of California
   -Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida
   -Chris Smith of New Jersey
   -Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida
