(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Northwestern University is offering car washes to area residents who have been impacted by construction of a new football stadium.
Demolition is over of the old Ryan Field, but the dust and debris continue to be an issue for people who live in the area or along the route that trucks take to and from the site.
“Next week. For all the individuals that have signed up on the website, we'll send out a detailed email with information on how they can either pick up their car wash voucher or we could deliver it to their home address,” said Northwestern University executive Dave Davis.
People can apply online for the car wash vouchers here: https://form.jotform.com/242196263358058
“Mass excavation should be wrapping up in the next week and so we are going to see about half the number of trucks traveling to and from the Ryan Field construction site, which means that there should be less dust in the area.”
Davis said other ways crews are dealing with dust include having a truck-washing station, street sweepers for along the truck route and a misting station on the construction site.
