CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago restaurant owner decided to make some special deliveries to the Illinois National Guard members staffing the mass-vaccination site at the United Center.
Robert Magiet, owns TaKorea Cocina, a Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant in Ukrainian Village, said he wanted to make sure some of these visiting soldiers don’t leave the city without having sampled some of Chicago’s delicacies.
Providing meals to them is a small way to thank them for their service.
Magiet has brought about 1,200 meals to the Guard members and other workers at the United Center.
He has delivered hundreds of Chicago-style pizzas and hot dogs, and the next round of meals will include Chicago-style beef sandwiches.
