CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum (KKAM) is set to take over Navy Pier's Festival Hall later this month for the inaugural "Retro Rides" experience, which runs from July 28 – 30.
Organizers said visitors can expect to see over 100 iconic and historically innovative cars. Among them: several 1950s American classic cars and a crystal-covered Rolls Royce.
"Retro Rides provides an opportunity for all of Chicago to experience vehicles that have been staples in pop culture and innovative, futuristic technology that have changed America," said Navy Pier President and CEO Marilynn Gardner.
Officials said the showcase is a product of Larry Klairmont's lifetime collection efforts.
"Our hidden gem, Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum, is hidden no more," said KKAM President Robert Olson. "We are open to the public and are claiming our position as one of Chicago's finest educational and entertaining museums."
Tickets start at $15 per person. Children under age 3 may attend for free.
