A 30-year-old man was killed and a 65-year-old man wounded in a shooting early Wednesday outside a River North hotel, authorities said.
Chicago police said the two men were outside about 3:20 a.m. along the busy intersection of Grand Avenue and State Streets when someone jumped out of a vehicle and opened fire and they were both shot.
The 30-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where police said he was later pronounced.
The 65-year-old man — who a source described as an unintended target — suffered two gunshot wounds to the foot and was also taken to Northwestern.
Dozens of shots were fired and yellow evidence markers could been seen outside the Royal Sonesta River North hotel, 505 N. State St.
No further information was available, according to police.
