(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It likely did not get brought up in the job interview, but ComEd workers assumed the role of pet rescuers when they spotted a cat stuck on top of an electrical transformer on Friday.
The rescue wasn’t exactly easy. After de-energizing the power lines, company officials said the workers tried to get the feline to walk into a bucket attached to a high-voltage hot stick.
That didn’t work, so they added tuna to the bucket — which was also unsuccessful.
Finally, a ComEd lineman climbed up and brought the cat down, himself, a spokesman confirmed.
The cat was then returned to its owner, who told ABC 7 she is “very grateful” to have her chaotic cat back.
