Running car stolen in Joliet driveway, ultimately tracked down on Chicago's South Side: Police

JOLIET (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Joliet police said a home was hit Thursday morning by multiple gunshots fired from a stolen car that was later found in Chicago.

Police said the car was stolen from a driveway in the 8100 block of Shady Oaks Lane, where it was left unattended as the engine was running to warm up.

Investigators said the stolen vehicle was driven to a nearby home in the 8100 block of Aaron Lane, where multiple gunshots were fired from the stolen car and hit the home.

Police said no one was injured.

The stolen car left the area and went to Chicago's South Side, where police said the car struck a fence and a vehicle at 73rd and Aberdeen.

Chicago police said three suspects were taken into custody and a handgun was recovered from the car.
