(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- You might notice long lines outside record stores, including Pinwheel Records in Pilsen, on Saturday as people try to get their hands on some limited-edition releases.
It’s Record Store Day 2023.
“Everybody does something a little bit different. Sometimes there are brand-new recordings that have never come out. There's a lot of things that have been out of print for a really long time. There's a lot of kind of ‘culty’ sort of stuff that didn't have much of a following or maybe got a very limited release way back in the day,” explains store co-owner Scott Shaaf.
He and co-owner Kim Foreit say they're expecting this year to be their biggest Record Store Day yet.
"This is like, 200 people show up at once. And we get to celebrate the fact that they keep us alive and that they want to be here for us. It's awesome,” she said.
