AURORA, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The state’s fourth largest school district is warning its students that doing the latest TikTok challenge could land them in big trouble.

Last month, there was a TikTok challenge that encouraged students around the country to steal from or vandalize school property.

This month, according to Indian Prairie School District 204 in the western suburbs, young people are being challenged to “smack a staff member on the backside.”

The district reminded its more than 27,000 students that police warn that that kind of action could border on assault.

School officials said any student who takes part could find themselves with “school and police consequences.”

The message, posted on district and school websites, asked parents to explain to their children those challenges are not appropriate for school.

Indian Prairie School District 204 has 27,400 students in its 31 elementary, middle, and high schools.
