(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The talk at the LaPorte County Indiana Jail is about the way a man recently tried to smuggle in a sharp object.
Detainees going into the jail have to go through a body scanner to prevent contraband from getting inside.
And deputies find all sorts of things, often drugs.
This time, it was a pair of scissors, in a place you don’t normally find scissors.
During an initial scan, a foreign object was detected in a body cavity in the man’s nether region.
A second scan confirmed the presence of the scissors – a regular pair of household scissors, 8 1/2 inches long.
The object was extracted, officials said.
