A day after a contractor was rescued from a Downers Grove storm sewer, crews found the body of his co-worker.
The village says they found the missing man in the storm sewer along Curtiss near Washington at about 5pm Tuesday.
That’s a block away from where the two workers for Vortex Lining Solutions disappeared shortly before 1pm Monday as severe storms rolled through.
The fire department rescued one worker two hours later, who was in good condition.
The second man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The village has not released their names, out of respect for their families.
Vortex said in a statement it’s devastated by the loss of its team member following what it calls an unexpected major rain event.
The Occupational and Safety Health Administration is investigating the incident.
