(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Another semi-pro soccer team is coming to the Chicago area.
The United Soccer League announced this week that Kane County will be home to River Light FC.
Tryouts are slated to start next month, with the football club expected to draw from colleges and high schools. There will be a women’s team in the W League and a men’s team in the USL League Two.
The team name borrows from the Fox Valley River and Aurora’s City of Light.
The announcement comes with no details about a location for a home field, but the team is selling tickets to 12 games.
General Manager Heather Bickerton said the team wants to build a winning culture, inspire the next generation of soccer players and make a lasting impact in the Fox Valley area.
