(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- After a fire in their apartment building this summer, several retirees have moved to another senior living facility nearby.
About two miles from the Emerald Village Senior Apartments in Schaumburg, where the fire occurred, is Friendship Village. Life Services Director Colleen Kowalewski says five residents have moved in since the July 14 fire left some units severely damaged.
It's not clear how long it will take to restore the apartments, but she says the new residents are welcome to stay as long as needed.
