CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Harvey Police Department said it is investigating a shooting that wounded three young people at a Popeyes restaurant.

Police were called to the Popeyes, located at 147th and Halsted Streets, at about 6 p.m. after numerous gunshots were reported.

They arrived to find a large number of shell casings in the parking lot.

Harvey police said officers were directed by a witness to 146th and Peoria Streets — three blocks away — where they found two juveniles with gunshot wounds to their legs.

They were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Meanwhile, officials said a third victim made their way miles away to Calumet City. Authorities there notified those in Harvey.

The third victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nobody is in custody. Harvey police have urged witnesses to come forward. Officials said tips can be anonymous.
