A shooting at a gas station on the South Side Thursday afternoon led to a police officer getting injured, one man being hospitalized and his brother going to jail.
Latosha Bradley's son, 25, was getting gas just off the Dan Ryan at 87 Street when multiple people approached and one started shooting at him. Somebody shot and he shot back.
Bradley's son is currently at the hospital with mostly graze wounds in the shoulder, face and arm. She said her son is also in the military.
Bradley told CBS-2 while her son was on the pavement wounded, he called his teenage brother, who showed up and crossed the police tape.
"He's in shock. He sees him on the ground, and he's hugging them," Bradley said.
The younger son, she said, has ADHD. She thinks he was overcome with anxiety.
"They said he fought with them and he was resistant," Bradley explained.
So one brother was in the hospital, the other in jail and a police officer was treated for minor injuries from the scuffle.
The gunmen and those he was with got away.
