CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning outside the home of former Mayor Lori Lightfoot involving her security detail.
A bullet went through the windshield of a CPD vehicle parked outside the former mayor's home in Logan Square at about 3 a.m. Two officers were in the SUV.
"On-duty officers were inside their unmarked squad car when a round hit the windshield causing damage. Officers then observed a bullet fragment inside on the floor of the vehicle," police said in a statement.
The officers were not hurt or injured and did not return fire.
No one is in custody. Area Five Detectives are investigating.
