Shots fired near Northeastern Illinois University: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Police are investigating potential shots fired near the campus of Northeastern Illinois University on the North Side.

The incident occurred on the 5100 Block of N. Central Park at 8:43 p.m.

Officers on patrol responded to shots fired and found a dark colored SUV which crashed, police said. Multiple occupants fled from the vehicle.

After a search of the immediate area was conducted, three males matching the description of the fleeing suspects were located and placed in custody. Multiple firearms were also recovered.

There were no injuries reported and Area Five Detectives are investigating.
