
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Half a dozen Chicago police officers were injured in a crash early Friday morning on the city’s West Side.
Two marked police cars were driving northbound on Western Avenue when one of them hit the other near 19th Street. The department says it happened at about 2:15 a.m.
Four officers in one car were taken to the hospital in good condition while two officers in the other car were in fair condition.
There was another crash involving a police vehicle Thursday afternoon. The department says an unmarked SUV had its lights and sirens on when it was hit by a sedan near Madison Street and Washtenaw Avenue.
Two officers and the driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The other driver was cited.
