Smash-and-grab: Wrigleyville Chick-Fil-A burglarized overnight

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Workers at a fast food restaurant in Wrigleyville are cleaning up this morning after a smash-and-grab crime overnight.

Someone drove up and smashed a window at the Chick-Fil-A on Clark near Cornelia, just after midnight. Chicago Police said the thief used a brick to break the glass and get inside, where they took items from the store before driving off.

Police have yet to offer a description of the burglar or vehicle.

Area Three detectives are investigating and have made no arrests.

The most recent statistics for the Town Hall District show burglaries are up 31 percent over this time last year.
