(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Tuesday marked Chicago's first snowfall, and as some were still out riding their bikes on the lakefront, others were getting ahead on snow preparation.

Clark and Devon Hardware has been ready for the snow for several months now.

"We've already started thinking about what winter is going to look like,” manager Sine Somerville said.

One of the first things to fly out the door is ice melting solvents, from rock salt to a pet-friendly version.

Somerville said all of the excitement is kind of fun. Seriously.

"You see a lot of action around it. You're able to educate people that need advice on what's the best product for them and situations."
