(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago Police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning in the South Shore neighborhood that left two young women dead and another in critical condition.

The women who were killed were found in the alley behind the 7700 block of South Oglesby Avenue.

Both were shot in the head and declared dead at the scene. They are both described as being between 20 and 30 years old.

The third ran from the scene and went to the nearby home of Marcia Talbert.

“I woke up this morning around 4:45 to my dog barking and a woman banging on my door pleading for help. I came downstairs. I didn’t open my door but I asked her to come toward the window so I could see her and I saw that she was covered in blood,” Talbert said.

That woman had been shot in the face and chest. She went to another home for help.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was initially in critical condition.

Another woman approached officers at the scene. She said she had video on her phone of one of the women and a car she believed was involved.

Police are only saying that nobody is in custody and the circumstances are under investigation.

Another neighbor said there’s a lot of gunfire in the neighborhood.
