CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Four rideshare drivers were held up Thursday in Burnside on Chicago’s South Side.

Between one and three men or young men in ski masks posed as passengers and used a handgun to rob rideshare drivers. That’s according to a community alert from CPD Area Two detectives.

Police said the robberies or carjackings happened in four locations-92nd and St. Lawrence, 91st and Dauphin, 92nd and Creiger and 93rd and Lyons-after the driver had taken the suspects to their locations.

Police encourage drivers to buy GPS devices to track their vehicles and be aware if the person they pick up doesn’t match the description or address given.
