MARKHAM, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An alderman from Markham was arrested Friday night on domestic battery charges stemming from an incident at his home earlier this week.

Police responded to the home of Alderman Rondal Jones after he allegedly got into a verbal and physical altercation with a minor. CBS 2 reported that a Markham police report shows that Jones put his knee in the girl’s back while trying to hog-tie her and grabbed her by the neck on Tuesday.

Jones’ wife tried to intervene, but police said he pushed her to the ground and hit her. The alderman told police the minor started hitting him during an argument while he was driving and when he got home, he was attacked.

Jones' wife and the child refused medical attention, according to CBS 2.
