
CALUMET CITY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The mayor of Calumet City was among those injured last night in a crash in the south suburb.
Calumet City police said there was a four-car crash in the 300 block of River Oaks Drive about 8 p.m. Wednesday night. That’s between Burnham and Wentworth Avenues.
Police said it started when two cars collided followed by a chain-reaction collision involving two more vehicles. Calumet City Mayor Thaddeus Jones was in that secondary crash.
Jones, a 60-year old man and a 57-year old woman were taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. A 47-year old man and 62-year old man were treated on the scene by paramedics. All injuries were reported to be minor.
