Chicago police are looking for the public's help in finding the person or people behind a Southeast Side shooting that left seven people wounded Sunday afternoon.

Of the seven men who were shot, two of them, 31 and 34-year-olds, are hospitalized in critical condition. The 31 year-old was shot in the chest while the 34 year-old was shot in the abdomen. The others had less serious wounds. Police Supt. David Brown said the seven had been standing outside a pizza place on 79th and Exchange, when one or two cars pulled up.

"There was someone who was in the car who, we can see on video, gets into some kind of discussion with the group and then, almost immediately shots are fired toward the group," said Brown.

Supt. Brown said none of the seven victims shot back. Detectives have been examining video in the area and talking to witnesses. The superintendent said it's unclear yet whether the victims had been targeted or whether something that was said during the discussion triggered it.

"Several people were standing out near the Little Caesar's here when two cars drove by and just started talking with them it shows on video and then, almost immediately began shooting at them," said Brown.

No arrests have been made at this point.
