(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Officials confirm a stabbing on a southbound CTA Red Line train Wednesday afternoon.

A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said one man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition from the Chicago Avenue subway station after the attack.

It's not clear what may have led to the attack -- which happened just as the afternoon commute was starting.

CTA Red Line service was disrupted for about an hour.
