(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Illinois Attorney General’s Office has been cracking down on retail thefts in suburban shopping malls.

One of the scenes for the crackdown: Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

The attorney general’s office says a New York woman and a New Jersey woman were arrested at the mall and that authorities found $3,000 worth of stolen Apple Store products on the two women.

Also, a Chicago man and a Palatine woman were arrested at Woodfield Mall with stolen merchandise after they allegedly used a theft-detection device remover to get away with merchandise from the Gap store.
