CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A convenience store employee is dead after a shooting Tuesday night in East Chatham.
Chicago police said the employee was in the alley near 79th and King Drive when someone tried to rob him. It happened at about 10:15 p.m.
It's unclear if the clerk resisted but police said the robber fired multiple shots, hitting victim in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 43-year-old Shadi Mohammads Almomani.
Police are looking for the gunman.
