(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A student at a north suburban middle school is in trouble for bringing a pellet gun onto the campus.

Glenview police say they were called to Attea Middle School around noon Friday after a boy was found to have “an airsoft CO2-style pellet device” inside a backpack.

The device was never displayed by the student and no one was in danger, police said.

Students temporarily stayed in their classrooms.

The student was petitioned to Cook County Juvenile Court on a charge of disorderly conduct and released to the custody of his parents, police said.

Further details were not released.
