(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A College of Lake County student is facing charges following an alleged attack on employees.

Last week, Jason D. May allegedly approached a staff member at the College of Lake County's Grayslake campus and tore down a pride flag the employee had hanging behind their desk.

Prosecutors say May also struck the employee and another staff member who intervened as May tried to take the flag.

He has bonded out on hate crime and battery charges, sheriff’s officials said.

May’s next court date is scheduled for July 20.
