(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A west suburban college student is out on bond after being charged with sharing child pornography.

Joseph Wilke, 20, turned himself in to officials Wednesday after an arrest warrant had been issued for him, authorities say. He is a student at Benedictine University in Lisle.

Lisle police were tipped that an Internet address traced to Wilke had disseminated child pornography on the messaging app Kik, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said.

The Daily Herald says court records indicate all the videos were of children who were five to eight years old.

State’s Attorney Robert Berlin says Benedictine University has been extremely cooperative with investigators and that the charges are not connected to the school.

Wilke’s bond was set at $100,000, and he posted 10 percent of that amount to be released from custody, officials said.
