(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A workplace shooting in southwest suburban Burr Ridge has left one person dead and another person injured, and the suspect behind the incident is believed to have killed himself.
Police were called to an office park near Route 83 and Interstate 55 around 3 p.m. Tuesday and found two victims. One of the persons was dead, and the other was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
The man believed to be the shooter fatally shot himself in the 7900 block of South Madison Street, the Daily Herald reported, citing an announcement by the village.
Burr Ridge Village President Gary Grasso told the paper the shooter was being fired or laid off from a job. The man shot a supervisor — the victim who died — and a woman, he said.
