Police say they've arrested a Waukegan man charged by prosecutors with the shooting deaths of a couple last month in the garage of their Beach Park home.
On Dec. 8, Timothy Triplett Jr. allegedly shot Carlos Rodas Perez and Mercedes Rodas as they were returning to their home on Wadsworth Road after they backed their vehicle into their garage.
Neighbors called 9-1-1 and police quickly responded, Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Christopher Covelli said Wednesday.
Covelli said Triplett did not know the couple, but police aren't revealing why Triplett was at the home because the investigation continues.
Prosecutors have charged Triplett with two counts of murder. He was being held at the Lake County Jail.
