(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 22-year-old parolee has been charged in a shooting on an Orland Park road last week that left two motorists injured.

The shooting occurred around noon on Jan. 27 near 143rd Street and Will Cook Road. A suspect in a vehicle with tinted windows fired several rounds into the passenger side of a second vehicle, injuring a man and a woman inside.

Orland Park police said the shooting appeared to a “targeted,” rather than a random, incident. An investigation led authorities to Dareaun D. Taylor, and the car he allegedly used in the shooting was recovered in Chicago, police said.

Taylor is a convicted felon who is currently on parole for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, Orland Park police say.

Taylor has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and is being held on a parole violation, police said.

Both people injured in last week’s shooting are out of the hospital, police said.
